Ever since I was a kid, I’ve loved woodworking and the process of creating with my hands. Over time, I found a real passion for lathe turning. Each project pushes me to balance craftsmanship and creativity, shaping raw wood into something that feels intentional and alive. I’ve learned how small changes in movement, pressure, or grain can completely transform a piece. Lathe turning keeps deepening my appreciation for the material and the artistry behind it.

Stool

The process of creating my stool began with exploring form through sketches. Once I finalized the design, I chose ash for its strength and beautiful grain. Using a stack-lamination technique, I built up the form to create a solid, sculptural base. After turning the stool on the lathe, I refined the surfaces with an angle grinder to achieve a balance between precision and organic texture. Weighing about 35 pounds, the final piece reflects a hands-on exploration of material, craft, and the relationship between structure and form.
